You don’t need to phrase things perfectly. Plain English is fine.
About recommendations
Sometimes people ask for photographer recommendations.
That can be appropriate — but only when there’s enough information to suggest a good fit.
There’s no preferred list, no referral scheme, and no obligation on either side.
If a recommendation isn’t appropriate, I’ll say so.
